Francis Ledwidge
This year (31st July), the centenary of the death of Francis Ledwidge is being commemorated, both in Belgium and at home. When Francis Ledwidge came to Dublin to enlist for military service in the first world war, he stayed, for a short while, with friends at No.8 Ellesmere Avenue. In the Francis Ledwidge Museum in Slane, there is on display a copy of a letter written by Ledwidge from that address. Thank you Eileen for this info |
