Little did we know what we were taking on when we reported for duty on Saturday morning to clean the back lanes. There were many questions before we began
Do the the Back Lanes actually exist?
When were they last cleaned?
When were they last accessed ?
Who has the keys ?
Do they they have their own eco system?
BEFORE
No answers could be given other than lets make a start. Quite soon the sound of unanswered questions was filled with the sound of trees being felled and the shovelling of earth
Within four hours, 3 doors, 2 radiators,3 trees and 60 bags of debris were removed leaving 2/3s of the lane clear. An incredible achievement.
AFTER
Thank you to all who helped make the clean up happen and it was great to see so many new faces.
Dublin Corporation are due to collect all the rubbish from the clearout on monday Morning. A date to clear the remaing 1/3 will follow soon.

Really enjoyed the mornings work last weekend, on the big laneway cleanup. Got to meet some neighbours I hadent met before and enjoyed the banter and the sense of achievement after a mornings toil. The before and after photos on the site are testament to how positive people power can be. it can shift mountains...well 70+ bags of refuse anyway!
