Following on from the success of the Spring Clean residents focused on the renovation of the flowerbed at the front of the Avenue during the month of May . Thanks to an angle grinder in the hands of a skillful operator and numerous wire brushes the railings were quickly stripped of their antique coat.
The paint team Tom, Kate, Patricia ,Brian,Diarmuid, Fritz, Billy , Andy ,Tony and Geraldine and even a passer by (patrick) made short work of the tedious paintjob. The spirits of the painters were buoyed by the many kind words of support by the residents on their way home from work.
With the coming of Summer and soil temperatures rising it was time to plant. A variety of annuals provided by Dublin City Council were planted. Home bound residents finished off thier working day planting a few Begonias as they passed by. Following a little water all tha that is left is for everyone to enjoy. We hope the bed will provide colour and a cheer throughout the season.
