Ellesmere and Adjoining Avenues Spring Clean Saturday May 2011 11.00am

Its that time of year again. Brush aside the cobwebs and bring out any street cleaning implement you can find; Brushes, Shovels, Hedge Clippers and Hibernating residents young and old are all welcome.
We ask that each household tidy the front of their own property including foothpath and gutter. Bags will be supplied and collected by the City Council .
For those of you who are feeling even more energetic we are looking for volunteers to help in renovating the flower bed at the entrance to the Avenue. It is hoped that following the street clean we will renovate the bed and replant it.
To fund this Flower bed renovation initiative we are having a sponsor a plant drive. In the coming days we will call house to house and you can sponsor a plant, or many if you like, and it will be planted in the flower bed for everyones enjoyment.
We are making the appearance of the Avenues a priority this year as this was was an area which was highlighted by all in the recently circulated questionnaire. In way of motivaiton to us all we have entered the Avenues in the tidy districts competition and hope to score highly.
Looking forward to seeing you there

There will be refreshments for all following the Spring Clean .

  1. It has been brought to my attention that there are a number of abandoned vehicles on the Avenue at the moment. I will be reporting these vehicles to Dublin City Council in the morning and requesting that they send a litter warden to investigate these vehicles. Once the warden has paid a visit these vehicles should be gone within 3-4 weeks. I'll keep you updated on this issue.
